Learn • Grow • Thrive
A very warm welcome to our school.
At Horizon Academy, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to Learn, Grow and Thrive. As a specialist SEMH school, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where each pupil can achieve their full potential; academically, socially and emotionally.
Our vision is simple but powerful: to give our pupils the very best educational offer. This means delivering high-quality teaching that secures academic success, alongside a strong focus on character education, enrichment opportunities and careers guidance. We know that learning goes far beyond the classroom, it’s about developing confidence, resilience, empathy and ambition.
We are immensely proud of our pupils and the journeys they take with us. For many, their time at Horizon Academy represents a period of personal growth and transformation. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to remove barriers to learning, build positive relationships and help every pupil discover their strengths and passions.
Our ultimate measure of success is simple: when pupils leave us, they are prepared for the next stage of their adult lives. They move on with the qualifications they need for their chosen career pathways, and the personal skills to navigate life’s challenges and opportunities with confidence and pride.
Whether you are a parent, carer, professional or prospective pupil, I hope our website gives you a sense of the care, ambition and purpose that drive everything we do. We are proud to be a community where everyone has the chance to Learn, Grow and Thrive.
Warm regards,
Emma Lane

Good News Stories
Take a look at the fantastic things our staff and students have been getting up to.

October 2026
Our school is part of Compass Eko Trust. The Trust has launched All Achieving, Without Exception: The Compass Eko Trust Strategy 2026–2031, setting out the shared priorities for its schools over the next five years.
The strategy has been shaped through conversations with children and young people; parents and carers; staff; school leaders; governors and trustees.
It is centred around three priorities – Belonging, Equity and Thriving – with an ambition to build great schools where every child and young person flourishes, every colleague thrives and everyone belongs.
Feedback from school communities has directly influenced the final strategy, including commitments to strengthen ongoing parent and community voice, be clearer about what kindness means in practice and continue improving support for children and young people with SEND.
You can read the full strategy on the Compass Eko Trust website here.
